Calf Disbudding

We offer a safe and stress-free calf disbudding service, ideally performed before calves reach 8 weeks of age. At this stage, the horn bud is not yet attached to the skull, making the procedure more straightforward and less stressful for the animal.

All calves are:

  • Sedated and given local anaesthetic to ensure a smooth, pain-free experience
  • Cauterised safely to prevent horn growth and future handling issues

Additional procedures that can be carried out at the same time include:

  • Vaccination with either 5-in-1 or 7-in-1 vaccine
  • Castration using rubber rings
  • Excess teat removal

Combining these services in one visit minimises stress on the calf and saves time for farmers.
