Desexing in our Clinic

What does desexing involve for your dog or cat?

When your pet arrives it will get a health check to ensure it is fit for the anaesthetic and surgery.  We recommend a blood test to be performed, to ensure your pet is well, this is also a valuable baseline for healthy animals. Preanaesthetic drugs for pain relief and relaxation will be given. We ensure the best quality of surgery and medical care. Your pet will be with us for the day and can usually go home in the afternoon with follow up pain relief  to make the next days as compftable as possible.

Desexing Subsidy

Desexing procedures are heavily discounted by Veterinary Surgeons as a way of contributing to animal health in our communities. In addition, the Humane Society of NZ can contribute 50% of the cost of desexing your pet, if financial hardship is the reason you have not had your pet neutered. Contact any of the staff in our clinics for more details.
