Dr Jorrit Verver - Director & Veterinary Surgeon

My name is Jorrit Verver, and I completed vet school in 2009 in The Netherlands (Master’s in Farm Animal Health, Dairy Production Medicine). During vet school I spend time at several renowned equine clinics in the USA and UK and published a paper about superovulation in mares at the Equine Reproduction Laboratory in Colorado.

Dr Ross Gadsby - Veterinary Surgeon

Ross, who spent most of his life in Taranaki, has recently joined Bay Vets in 2024. With 30 years of experience in a mixed animal practice, focusing on dairy, he brings a wealth of expertise to our team. After living and working out of a caravan for 18 months, he is now relishing the comfort of a permanent home and takes pleasure in getting out on the boat whenever possible. Welcome, Ross!

Anne Cocks - Clinic Coordinator

Anne has worked with our Kaikohe team for over 25yrs since moving north from the Waikato. Prior to joining Bay Vets Anne worked with oncology patients in the human nursing field. Anne very much enjoys working in Kaikohe as part of an awesome team.

Rachel Byfield - Qualified Vet Nurse

Rachel has been an important part of the team for over 25 years. Her experience and eye for detail are matched with her strong compassion for our patients. She has rescued countless animals of all varieties over the years and continued their intensive care and rehabilitation at her home, helped by her daughter Jessie. Rachel has a lifestyle property she shares with many furry, woolly and feathered pets.

Anna Low - Reception

Anna has worked for Bay Vets for the past 8 Years. First starting off in the Kawakawa Clinic & now based in the Kaikohe Clinic On the days she is not working in the Clinic she is busy farming.
