Bay Vets
Bay of Islands Veterinary Services has been providing top quality veterinary care to the animals of the beautiful Bay of Islands for over 50 years.
Bay of Islands Veterinary Services regrets to announce we are going to permanently close our Highway branch at Redwoods, 1526 Springbank Road, SH10, Kerikeri. We will stop providing veterinary services out of the Highway clinic from the start of July. Maren will still be available to see your animals on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s, working from either our Kerikeri or Kawakawa clinics.
The primary reason for our decision at this stage is so we can continue to offer the highest standards of equipment and care for your pets. With 4 to 5 vets and 6 to 7 nurses in the Kerikeri clinic every day, we have you covered. Kerikeri has extensive in-house capability including state of the art xray, ultrasound, comprehensive in-house laboratory and advanced monitoring equipment, including ECG, for critical patients. Kerikeri is also our centre for orthopaedic surgeries offering fracture repairs and TPLO. This is additional to the standard fluid therapy pumps, pulse ox, CO2 , blood pressure monitoring and oxygen cages, available in all our companion animal clinics. Bay Vets is also committed to providing a reliable afterhours service. We have a vet rostered to attend the clinic, if needed, 24/7.
Meanwhile, we are developing a purpose built, state of the art, veterinary clinic at Waipapa. The Waipapa development will ultimately become our flagship clinic and centre of operation for companion animals and farm animals alike. With six consult rooms, four theatres, and a drive to invest in technology, we will be able to advance the level of veterinary services available in the Far North. The new development will be able to offer the convenience of location with easy main road access and ample parking.
In the meantime, all our Highway clients have the option to take your animals to one of our other companion animal clinics, either Kerikeri, Kawakawa or Kaikohe. Our database runs from a centralised server, so all your patient records are accessible at any of our clinics.
We will keep the retail shop open for a short period into July. Ashley our receptionist, along with the vet nurses, will be relocating to our busy Kerikeri clinic where the extra help will be gratefully received.
We appreciate this will be an inconvenience for many of you, however we feel it is for the best so we can provide you with the high standard and reliable service you and your animals deserve.
Sincerely
The Team at Bay Vets
